By all measures, Sunday, September 20th was a splendid day. It was a perfect, sunny, fall day for MW’s Fall Kickoff, in a beautiful setting at Pam Saul’s Rolling Acres Farm in the Agricultural Reserve. Approximately 50 people mixed, mingled, made new friends, greeted old friends, enjoyed the spectacular country views and savored a delicious barbecue lunch—hot dogs, hamburgers, baked beans, cole slaw, and the works. We also welcomed two new members, Jennifer Hughes and Ginny Gong, while 11 existing members took the opportunity to renew their MW memberships.
We thank our Honorary Chair, Catherine Leggett, and her spouse--our County Executive—Ike Leggett for coming out and speaking to the group. We also thank Senator Rona Kramer (District 14), Delegate Bill Bronrott (District 16), Council President Phil Andrews, and Council members Marc Elrich, Nancy Floreen, Mike Knapp and George Leventhal. For a short time, we had a quorum!
A special thanks to the Committee who put this together—Pam Saul, Merle Steiner, Marylin Pierre, and Leslie Weber. And thanks, too, to the Executive Committee members who came out—Beth Irons, Membership—worked all day, as did Deborah Stoll. And many others were there for a long time, and helped, too—Pat Baptiste, Jenny Sue Dunner, Donna Barron, Fran Rothstein. Goldie Rivkin was at the phoneathon.
Thanks to all,
Meredith
