Ilaya Hopkins, is running for the Montgomery County Council in District 1, which includes Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Friendship Heights, Potomac, and Garret Park. Ilaya is an accomplished community leader who will bring her coalition-building experience to the County Council. She is an effective advocate for quality of life issues and has a vision for a vibrant, well-run community.
Her vision includes: * Make our county a destination for innovation and new business * Promote transit-first development in the White Flint master plan * Reduce overcrowding in District One school clusters * Serve the County with energetic leadership rooted in the community
