Meredith Wellington, President, Montgomery Women, joined Diane Kartalia (member of MW) to see Saturday School (at Kennedy High School), a mentoring and tutoring program for students 1st to 12th grade this past week-end. Meredith was joined by other community leaders (Craig Rice, Council Member - Elect, Barbara Jones, Executive Director, The George Preston Marshall Foundation, Rebecca Kahlenberg, President & Founder, MoverMoms and others), Saturday School Staff and Board Members. Diane is a consultant with this nonprofit organization.

Saturday School serves academically needy students in 12 high school centers located in the central and east side of the county. 3,600 students are projected to be served this year. Meredith stated how important it is for our community to offer a wide range of programs for youth. “I am very impressed with Saturday School, the commitment of the students and the dedication of the staff.”
