Join Montgomery Women Today. Launching Women Leaders.
Dear Friends,
It has been an exciting time for Montgomery Women! As many of you already know, we are in the process of converting from a 527 PAC to a 501(c) 3. We are also changing our membership year to conform to the calendar year. However, this causes a slight, one time only issue, when it comes to collecting our dues.
In the past, you paid your dues of $125 in September, and your membership lasted through the end of August of the following year (12 months). Going forward we will ask you to pay your dues (still just $125) in January, and your membership will last through December. But this year we have a gap of four months (September through December of 2017) and we need to collect the dues for that period also, since we will be having several wonderful events. So this time only we are asking for a payment of $165.00, which means you will be a paid-up member from September of 2017 through December of 2018 (16 months). In other words, we are charging you $40.00 for the four months remaining in 2017 plus $125.00 for the full year of 2018. If paying the larger amount this one time only is difficult for any of you, please get in touch with me to arrange to pay your dues in two installments (September and January). I should also mention that for our members who are 35 and younger, your dues are normally only $50 for the twelve month year, but this time we will ask that you pay $65.00 for sixteen months.
The good news is that our membership process is easier than ever since you can simply join or renew and you can pay your dues online as well! Click here to join now! If you prefer, you may also mail a check or bring one to our annual Fall Kick Offbeing held on September 24th from 2 – 4 pm at the home of Lisa Mandel-Trupp. {Credit Cards will also be accepted at kickoff}.
We will continue to focus this year on Launching Women Leaders. Our goal is to encourage women to seek leadership positions in politics, the non-profit world, business, government and elsewhere. It is so important to have women at the table, and, as we’ve learned in the past few years, we can’t take our hard-earned gains for granted. It is so important for us to support one another. You can do this by participating in programs that Montgomery Women will hold throughout the year where we will help each of you identify and develop your leadership abilities while meeting women leaders from all sectors in Montgomery County. Check out our calendar featuring events every single month.
For example, our popular First Friday breakfasts are held at 7:30 a.m. at the Silver Diner in Rockville. (In January and July, the breakfasts are held on the "Second Friday" so as not to conflict with the holidays.) These well-attended events are very relaxed, and are perfect for networking and socializing with some of the County's most dynamic women.
You can also meet other women leaders at our two Public Affairs Salons, held in the Fall and Spring, and at our Leading and Learning Happy Hours, where we discuss topical articles over a glass of wine. Learn more about all of our programs and events via our Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
We hope you will be as excited about the year ahead as we are. Several of our members have already thrown their hat into the political ring, since 2018 is an election year, and others continue to rise up the ladder at work. It is so important for us to be there for one another.
Can’t wait to see you soon, and remember: To start taking advantage of the many benefits Montgomery Women offers: Join today!
